Shooting
Ardlamont Estate offers both driven shooting for parties of up to ten guns and walked up days for those who prefer to be more active.
The Estate is investing heavily in stocking the grounds with young birds, putting down 6,500 Pheasant, plus Partridge and Duck over the last couple of years to establish natural breeding on the Estate.
That policy is now paying off, with one recent team of 8 guns bagging a total of 78 Pheasant, 28 Partridge, 12 Duck, 3 Geese and 1 Woodcock.
With driven shooting there are typically six drives over the course of the day, with a break midway through for soup and sausage rolls in the Estate's Cedar House Shooting Lodge.
After the last drive of the day the guests return to the Shooting Lodge for a game casserole.
Then for House Guests, it's off to Ardlamont House to relax and freshen up before dinner is served in the main dining room accompanied by a choice of wines or beer.
Walked Shooting offers its own challenges with the guns covering more ground, and the opportunities less predictable.
We can also offer shooting facilities for the disabled with experienced staff to drive them to their assigned spot on each drive. The Shooting Lodge is fully accessible for disabled sportsmen and women.
Excellent deer stalking is available on the Estate.
Ardlamont supports a good herd of both Red and Roe Deer and morning and evening stalking is available. Transport is provided as appropriate.
For those who prefer the rod to the gun, we can arrange salmon and trout fishing in either local hill lochs or rivers.
For guests who would rather fish in deeper water we can arrange angling trips on local fishing charter boats, or there is the opportunity for shore angling along the Estate's two-and-a-half miles of beaches, or further afield.
