Guests who wish to enjoy Ardlamont Estate's delightful setting amidst the stunningly beautiful scenery in Argyllshire's Cowal Peninsular are spoiled for choice.
Their options range from staying in the centrepiece of the estate, the 16th century Ardlamont House, which is run as a family house, and is available to shooting parties, wedding parties, video and film crews, and other engaged in estate-based activities.
Ardlamont is an outstanding example of a Scottish Country House of the period, with its spectacular staircase, long ringing corridors, public rooms with roaring log fires, three large double bedrooms, with four-poster beds, and all with adjoining bathrooms, a large twin room and two smaller doubles and a single room.
The three-storey house has commanding views over the gardens which are particularly stunning in the spring when the masses of rhododendrons and azaleas are in flower.
For those who are looking for self-catering holiday let accommodation the Estate can offer the Studio Cottage, the Old School House, the Beater's Cottage and the Square Flat, all of which have been totally refurbished to extremely high standards.
The Studio Cottage is a single storey cottage on the edge of the wood, with spectacular views across Loch Fyne to the Sleeping Warrior and Goat Fell on the Isle of Arran.
The Studio Cottage sleeps two, with accommodation consisting of a lounge with open fire, double bedroom, kitchen fully fitted with modern appliances, and bathroom with shower.
The Old School House once supported a role of up to 40 estate workers' children, also sleeps two. It has been tastefully transformed into an open-plan lounge, with fully fitted kitchen, toilet and shower room, and a dramatic minstrel's gallery with double bedroom.
The Beater's Cottage is part of the former Coach House and Stables, and once again has been totally refurbished to provide spacious and gracious accommodation for six, in three double bedrooms, all with ensuite bathrooms, large open plan lounge dining room and kitchen, with an open fireplace.
